Every project begins with hope. Clients hope that the vision they have for a future space is not only finished on time and on budget — but that the process is professional, collaborative and, most of all, exceeds expectations. For 50 years, Grimm + Parker has successfully turned that hope into reality for hundreds of clients with our unique and cutting-edge design process.
Every client is unique and every solution will be individualized to your needs. Our process is thoughtful, inclusive, collaborative, and engaging.
It's human centered and we often incorporate storytelling into the design narrative.
It's research driven and we communicate this with innovative visualization methods such as:
We weave in creative, sustainable solutions into every project by listening to and learning from clients and their stakeholders. With constant balancing of the facts of the project and your values we accomplish the right, customized solution. We take design personally and are good stewards of our client's funding - we do the right thing from start to finish.
We staff projects with a team that stays from start to finish. We think about occupancy from the start with life cycle analysis, operation and maintenance concerns, and operation needs. Our experienced staff performs Facility Assessments and identifies challenges, opportunities, and cost implications in Facility Assessments.
Our quality control philosophy is built around these concepts:
We have a QC Plan that includes efficient work plans, regular coordination meetings, redline coordination and clash detection, BIM model coordination, and experienced and accountable Project Managers leading the way.
Our affordable communities are often mistaken for high end, market rate communities. We've completed 60+ affordable, tax credit communities with funding through 9% Tax credits, 4% bonds, HUD 221 D4, HUD 202, HUD 811, and others.
We have designed hundreds of educational facilities, libraries, community centers, and residential buildings over the years. These facilities have garnered over 250 local, regional and national design awards from architectural groups, environmental groups, contractors, community organizations and educators. In fact, we have won all three of the nation’s most prestigious awards for architectural design in education: the James D. MacConnell Award, the Shirley Cooper Award, and the Walter Taylor Award.
