This phase is about exploration, discovery and programming.
This first phase includes getting to know you and exploring your needs and wants: learning what you like, what inspires you and your stakeholders, both now and in the future. Imagine, how do you want your environment to support all of the activities and people it will serve?
We also visit your current space (if you have one) or similar facilities to learn what is working and what's not. Through in-person meetings, virtual meetings, phone calls, emails, and sharing precedent images, we help you communicate your hopes and dreams.
This phase is about creatively solving your challnges through space plan options, materials, design boards, and 3D visualization tools. This is also the phase where most decisions are made.
We apply our expertise to create an interior design just for you. This is the longest of the interior design phases and we arrange several meetings to present you with well-developed options for your spaces — complete with materials, fabric samples, furniture tear sheets, lighting, and paint colors.
This phase is focused on quotes, purchase orders, shop drawings, and fabrication. It can feel like the slowest phase in the entire process for clients. Grimm + Parker Architects coordinates pricing from vendors, dealers, and/or contractors for design, material and furnishing selections that were made in the Programming and Design phases.
We monitor decisions and selections with the budget and we troubleshoot with smart and efficient strategies to get back on budget if necessary. We guide clients every step of the way towards placing the order for final furnishings. Once the order is placed and shop drawings are reviewed and approved, fabrication takes place for approximately four to six months.
This phase is about working towards the big reveal and celebrating a fully-completed project. Depending on project scope and schedule, this process may have taken months or years but our team leads the way from programming to installation day. We know how to assist clients with scheduling, receiving, and setting furniture and equipment. We work with contractors to ensure that the design intent of materials, millwork, furnishings, and specialty systems is met before Grand Opening. We assist clients in making durable decisions that meet the needs of owners and users, alike!
We get to know you and imagine a day in the life of your users now and in the future to determine the type, quantity, and quality of spaces they need for living and/or working in the new space and building. Our on-staff Interior Designers lead the effort and keep our firm at the leading edge of trends, challenges, and design opportunities.
