University Place

University Place

Located in the Sunnyside neighborhood of Morgantown on West Virginia University property, University Place has transformed an aging off-campus housing precinct into a vibrant urban neighborhood.

Developed through a public-private partnership, the project’s two highrise residential towers provide students with an abundance of amenities, striking a balance between supplying the comforts of home and appealing to students as a bustling housing complex.

Retail, parking, restaurants and a grocery store occupy the ground level, fronting a revitalized streetscape. The design faces the challenge of the site’s significant grade change through a monumental stair, landscaped plazas, and private elevated courtyards. These outdoor features showcase breathtaking views of the city and the surrounding West Virginia landscape.

Evolution Of A Campus

University Place transformed aging, off-campus housing blocks into a vibrant urban neighborhood.

Variety Of Home Styles

The suites vary from two to four private bedrooms.  Each unit contains private paired baths and modern kitchens, living rooms, and dining areas.

Closing Thoughts

University Place is much more than a dorm: this “city within a city” provides a living & learning center, multiple student lounges, and an extensive fitness center.
