The Barn Story 

Barn raising was particularly common in 18th and 19th century in pastures in rural North America and the inspiration behind the framing structure for Glenwood Library. Just as communities came together to build barns to house grains, and other nourishments for the community, the Glenwood Maryland community gathers in one of Howard County’s first libraries to nourish minds and exchange knowledge.
