Design-Build

The new Marine Corps Reserve Center complex located at Fort Dix features a 55,732 sf main reserve center training facility, a 19,887 sf vehicle maintenance facility and a 4,400 sf organic equipment storage facility.

The new facility is equipped with such programmatic elements as a simulated small arms trainer, training classrooms, warehouse facilities, and storage for personal protective gear. The two main office suites are situated around an open floor plan allowing for both flexibility and additional workspace. A row of clerestory glass windows allows all of this office space to have natural daylight. Other amenities include a medical suite, maintenance bays to service and store artillery pieces, two armories, and secure areas for sensitive materials.

The main building welcomes you with a two-story, light-filled lobby that offers easy accessibility to the public areas of the center. The center serves a full-time staff of 40 people and provides for 350 people over drill weekends. To comprehensively fulfill these needs, the design included a 5,000 sf drill hall, classrooms and office suite conference rooms with interactive smart boards, a substantial workout facility, and a recruiting office.

Closing Thoughts

The building design optimally meets the needs of a reserve center and helps ensure that Marines are trained and ready for deployment.
